What is an Adjustment Layer

an adjustment layer is an object you can overlay on top of your entire project in  your timeline. You can apply color grading or sharpening or most effects to the adjustment layer instead of the individual video clips. This allows you to apple effects to the entire video project instead of one by one. It is a great time saver and offers great flexibility as you can change the duration of the adjustment layer. Unfortunately it is not included by default on with Final Cut Pro X or Final Cut Pro (10.5 and newer). You can create your own if you have the paid software motion.

How to install the Adjustment Layer

download the zip folder and unzip the folder and place it in your movies->motion templates ->titles folder. For best results make sure your final cut pro is closed during install.
